Lionel Delevingne was born and raised in France and moved to western Massachusetts in 1975. He and his wife Judith Wilkinson have been residents of Stockbridge since 2008. Lionel brings to the Laurel Hill Association his 40-year-long career as an independent photographer and journalist with a special interest in environmental matters. His credits include works in Mother Jones, Die Zeit, Figaro Magazine, and The Village Voice. In the 1980s and 90s, Lionel was the Berkshires photographer for The New York Times travel section. He is a well-exhibited photographer and the author of several books, most recently, To the Village Square: from Montague to Fukushima 1975–2014. Lionel is also the founder of D & A, a visual marketing firm dedicated to education.
