Marilou Hyson has taught and learned from young children, teens, and adults. She studied literature, child development, and early education; after teaching at the University of Delaware she was briefly a policy fellow in the US Department of Education and then worked in Washington, D.C. with the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Now she serves as a consultant to international early childhood projects, primarily through the World Bank and UNICEF. Closer to home, she lives with her husband, John, right on the Housatonic River in the Glendale section of Stockbridge, volunteers with the Stockbridge Library and as a LitNet tutor, and supports the Laurel Hill Association’s education-related activities.
