Lee Bolman
Trustee through 2023
Lee Bolman is an aging hiker, backpacker, skier and kayaker whose Midwest childhood left him mountain-deprived until he discovered New England in his late teens. The joy of embarking on new trails or revisiting familiar ones fuels his interest in preserving and enhancing natural assets in Stockbridge, the Berkshires and beyond. He retired in 2019 after 51 years as a management professor, teaching courses in leadership and organization studies in schools of management and education. His most recent books include Reframing Academic Leadership (2d ed., 2020, with Joan Gallos) and Reframing Organizations: Artistry Choice and Leadership (6th ed., 2017, with Terry Deal). Lee and family divide their time between Stockbridge in the west and Brookline in the east, one reason he strongly hopes for the arrival of better east-west rail in Massachusetts.
