Robert Sedgwick
Robert is an avid hiker and has been roaming the trails and hills of Berkshire County since he was seven when his great uncle, Alexander “Shan” Sedgwick, first took him to the summit of Laura’s Tower in Stockbridge.
In the 1990s Robert spent five years working as a journalist and studying Arabic in Cairo, Egypt before completing a master’s degree focusing on international politics at New York University.
Currently, Robert works as a content developer for JSTOR, a digital platform encompassing journals, magazines, books, and think tank research. His work at JSTOR includes partnering with research institutes and think tanks as well as developing and launching a collection of multi-content resources in the field of military, security and strategic studies.
For the past eight years, Robert has been active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary running patrols in and around NYC harbor and currently holds the rank of Branch Chief, CENTCOM in the International Outreach Division.
In addition to hiking, Robert enjoys camping, travelling and fishing for Large Mouth Bass. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two very active sons.
